Apache is proud to have a dedicated team focused on engaging and developing the future workforce. Recently, we were thrilled to have our Director of Workforce Development, Zeke Smith, SHRM-SCP, recognized for his outstanding contributions to the community where he grew up. Zeke was named a Goose Creek CISD January Giant Alumnus of the Month in honor of the work he and his team have done at his alma mater, Ross Sterling HS, to promote opportunities and offer career paths to students through our Registered Apprenticeship Program, Access II Industry.
Apache Industrial signed a Memorandum of Understanding with San Jacinto College that provides the framework for dual-credit/ pre-apprenticeships with students in the Channelview, Galena Park, and Sheldon school districts. This will create a pipeline of well-prepared candidates for our U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program, Access II Industry!
Apache was recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston for the execution of the LyondellBasell PO/TBA project. Since December 2021, Apache has supported the world’s largest PO/TBA facility at LYB Channelview, with over 1,400 employees erecting and de-mobilizing 10,000 tons of scaffolding, and a safety record of over 2.5 million hours without injuries. We are honored to receive this distinguished designation alongside our exceptional colleagues in the industry. The hard work, innovation, and commitment to quality and operational excellence of our dedicated team have been acknowledged. This award is a testament to our passion for building a better future while partnering with our clients.
Our dedication to the veteran community has been recognized by numerous organizations and institutions. The U.S. Department of Labor recently acknowledged this by presenting the company a HIRE Vets Medallion award. Our registered apprenticeship program, Access II Industry, gives transitioning veterans the option to learn new skillsets as they develop a civilian career. We are proud of all of our apprentices, but there is a special pride when we have one who has served our country! As an added benefit, Apache provides extra support and appreciation to all of our veteran employees through an employee resource group called VetNet.

Apache has been ranked as the top performer and recognized with the Houston Business Roundtable Safety Excellence Awards (SEA). The SEA are presented annually to contractors or subcontractors in the Texas Gulf Coast Area who achieve outstanding on-the-job safety promotion and performance at an asset owner’s site or business during the year completed. Apache has reliably received this award for the past 10+ years.
The Safety Excellence Award is the National Insulation Association’s highest industry honor and the only national award for outstanding safety performance in the mechanical insulation industry. The NIA award program recognizes top companies that have established structured safety programs to ensure the well-being of their employees and create safe working environments. Apache Industrial took home the Contractor Platinum Award.
